Justina Lee Brown, born in Lagos, Nigeria, is a charismatic singer and songwriter blending afro-funk, soul, blues, and jazz. In 2024, she became the first African to win the prestigious Swiss Blues Award for her album Lost Child (2023), recognized as the best self-produced soul-blues album in Switzerland. Her latest release, the Billiki EP (2024), addresses the issue of violence against girls, offering three versions of the track: original, folk, and pop. Justina gained prominence in 2006 as a finalist in the Nokia First Chance program, with her single “Omo 2 Sexy” becoming a hit in Nigeria. Now based in Switzerland, she tours globally, earning acclaim as an artist who fuses African roots with Western sounds.
