Krissy Matthews is half-Norwegian, and half-British. He is named a wonderful child of blues. His story started when he was only 3 years old and 5 years after that he received his first electric guitar. At the age of 12 he performed with John Mayal and Bluesbreakers at Notodden Festival! The legendary musician was so amazed with the young guitar player. After the festival, Krissy Matthews became more and more popular. He appeared on “God Morgen Norge”, Norway’s national breakfast TV, did a radio session, was interviewed on many occasions.

At the age of 13, he recorded a first CD “Influences”. Two years later, after a meeting with the King of the Blues BB King, he recorded “No Age Limit” album.  Krissy was accompanied, all the way through, by his brother.

Krissy’s carrier was going strong. In 2007,  shortly after his second album was released, Krissy was invited by Jeff Healey to perform on stage with him. Krissy was also invited by Walter Trout to a jamsession.

This young musician’s gigs received a very good response. In Lizbona, 2008, during “Festa Avante” listened by 20 000 people, a Brazilian guitarist Nuno Mindelis heard Norwegian on a Small Stage and invited him to a Main Stage.

By the age of 18, Krissy had recorded and released 3 albums. In 2009,  an album “Allen in Reverse” and in 2010, the “Hit the Rock” were released.

Now, at the age of 22,  he conquers blues stages across Europe. So far, Krissy has performed in 20 different countries including England, Wales, Scotland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Poland, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany, France, Portugal, Spain, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia and Switzerland.  Na He will be performing at Suwałki Blues Festival for the first time.
